Writing a novel normally takes most of us a year so to try and put out three in one year is not an easy task. I'm hoping that I can. I put out Surprise Engagement about a month ago and now this is getting my attention. It's written but now is the hard part the editing. I had to take about two weeks off when my Aunt Deane became ill from a fall and from there things just got worse. She was one of my biggest fans and at some point I will blog about her, but it won't be easy. Three days ago we laid her to rest, and that was not an easy thing for us to do. She was the last living Great Aunt on my mothers side of the family. She will be missed dearly. She loved this Street Justice series and it breaks my heart that she won't get to read them all. I know that she would want me to go on full force and get as many books out as I can. She was very proud of me and I'm so grateful that she was in my life. At some point I hope to tell you more about Reasonable Service and how it was dedicated to my family. I'm so very thankful that Aunt Deane was able to read it and she loved it. She will be missed and I will dedicate many books in her memory. Thanks for any prayers, and thanks for being a Fury Fan Samantha |

I've been watching the reviews come in for Maid for Martin and for Surprise Engagement. It can be fun and frustrating at the same time. A part of you wants to answer all of them but most authors will tell you that it's not a good thing. They say if you answer to a bad review that you look petty, and if you answer to a good review you like like you're patting yourself on the back. What's an author to do?
Most of the time I read them, and try to learn from them. I do appreciate all reviews. I know I'm not going to please everyone. I try to write what I feel God is leading me to write, and then I try to write the story the way I enjoy reading one. I like a good romance, a bit of the chase and I always like a happy ending. For my mystery I like some detective work, and I enjoy tossing in some real life situations. I pray before I write, and do my best to follow the pattern I feel God is laying out before me. Thanks to all of you that take the time to leave a review, good or bad. I always enjoy learning from reviews. No one is perfect and I know things are going to get over looked, that's life. I pay for editing every time, and with each book I learn more and more. I do appreciate those readers that keep coming back for more. I've been writing since I was 8 years old and it is my most favorite past time. Thanks for taking a part in my dream of being an author. I hope you enjoy reading every page as much as I enjoy writing them. Blessings Samantha Thanks for checking back in with me again. I wanted to give you some numbers on the free days for Maid for Martin. This time I give away 3265 free downloads. It's pretty good numbers for a book being free for the third time. I hope readers enjoy it. I know that we have a lot of readers out there that can gobble up lots of books in a month and it's good to offer books free now and then. I hope you got a chance to download Maid for Martin, and if you're just joining us. I write under Samantha Lovern for Clean Romance and Samantha Fury for Christian Mystery romance. In a future post I'll explain why the two different names. Today, I managed to only get one chapter finished today, on Mending Fences, and I really wanted to get two written, but today was laundry day and the day to mow the grass. It was beautiful weather and Jack and Max were our lounging in this fall weather. I hope that you all are enjoying the posts, and come back again when you can. Blessings Samantha Duplicate post from Samantha Fury blog Wow how can it be August all ready. The time goes by so quickly it's not funny. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was taking down my Christmas tree and the snow was flying and here we are closing in on fall again. Today was the second day of my free days with Maid for Martin and I had some good numbers. I have given away a lot of novels today. I gave away a couple in Brazil, Germany, Spain, and a few other countries. It still amazes me that I am gaining readers in places in such far away places. I will give a total count in a few days, and I'm so thankful for any of you that have shared that Maid for Martin is free with your friends. Tomorrow is the last day so be sure and grab a copy. I managed to get in a little writing today, and finished two more chapters to Mending Fences. I received another great review for Surprise Engagement and went to the store and bought a chocolate cake I can't wait to bake it. I hope that you all had great day, and feel free to comment or ask a question. I'm burning the midnight oil tonight and Jack is looking pretty tired so we'll be singing off and you guys have a blessed night! Samantha Duplicate of what's on the Fury Blog I've been a busy bee the last few hours with about three new versions of the book uploaded. I hope to have everything worked out in about a week. We've had everything from blue and yellow colors showing up to to some missing words. It's always fun getting the last minute bugs worked out. It's one reason I keep the book low for a couple of weeks to make up for all of the crazy things that can happen. I think the blue colors are gone now and that yellow one that was in the middle of the book I have no idea where they came from or what really took either of them away. But I worked and worked to try to get it right, so if you've not started reading yet feel free to update and get the latest version. I hope we don't have to do that again. I have begged Amazon for some lag time from the time the book uploads to the time it goes live and readers start buying it but so far they are ignoring my please. Maybe some day they'll give us the trial time that we need. The numbers are rolling in and I've gotten a few reviews from some of those fast readers. It's always good to know what readers are thinking. Also feel free to post here on the blog, or shoot me an email. Jack and Max and I have been outside several hours on this beautiful day, when we wasn't fighting with uploads. I hope you all had a great day, and that you are enjoying what's left of school vacation. I don't have children but around here school starts back soon, so I'm sure some of you will be happy about this and others will miss having your kids underfoot as we would say here in KY. Blessings and have a great night. Don't forget Maid for Martin is free for two more days so if you didn't get a copy yet grab one. Sam Editing 101 Welcome readers. I hope that some of you have been enjoying Surprise Engagement. This first two weeks I hope to work out all of the final bugs that my gracious readers find. I do try to put out a very clean edited book, but it's not easy when you're working on your own. It's also hard to keep your prices low and also pay for more than one editor so I do my best to get the book as clean as I can and then after the Beta readers check things out we move on to publish. Still things will get over looked so that's where this trial period of the first two weeks comes into play. My auntie will be starting as my personal assistant but for now she's still moving into her new home. She hopes to help me with the upcoming releases. I am so blessed to have so many great readers. I do appreciate your time and I hope you enjoy my novels. If you happen to find something you think needs attention never hesitate to contact me. I am a self published author and I do everything but the final edit on my own. From formatting to covers, marketing to uploads, it's all done by my hands and I will do my best to keep releasing more novels and keep my prices affordable . Sincerely Samantha
Welcome Lovern Fans
I hope to start blogging on this blog too, but most of the time it will be the same post that is on my Samantha Fury website. I know that most of you enjoy both my novels but there may be some that only like romance so I will be posting the same blog on both sites. Thanks for being a part of the Samantha Lovern Reader base. I do appreciate all of my readers. I hope to be working on the site and adding some free chapters, and some up coming release news. I hope to interview my new Auntie who will be working as my new assistant and just in general talking about what's going on in the Fury - Lovern publishing world. Thanks again for stopping by. I have a news letter now that you can sign up for And I hope to get a page set up for that so |
